Wow. Pretty good writing Arlo, I wish I could write and sound as natural as you do, and heck, I want to be a writer!

The video shoot Saturday was awesome, yeah it was hard work and we were all exhausted by the end, but I would not trade one single minute for anything else I could have done on that Saturday. Making movies has been a dream of mine since the Sheldon series with the Chris as the spy and we were all down stairs in State building… yeah that was cool.

I went into Saturday nervous as all hell. It’s been 10 years since I did anything that even resembles acting. And coming in on Karl shadows, well let’s just say it’s a hard shadow to fill. Karl just has something about him.

When we went into the back room and you started telling me what you wanted my heart sank even more, I couldn’t be “that guy”. And I was thinking, “man Arlo is going to hate this”. I felt bad because I know you are very passionate about this as I am. But let’s face it; I’m no Harrison Ford.

So there we were camera’s rolling and everything happening, and you said, I can use that shot. And I said in my mind, “now or never”. An you know what, it felt good. I am glad that the end result is something you liked.

It’s funny later on in the shoot we were all getting tired and you started urging me to take a moment and think about my lines and that was great. At some time during the night though something strange happened, I just couldn’t get my line right. And I realized what it was.

You had stopped saying “Action”.

It really bothered me that we were just filming. I needed to hear that to tell my brain, “this is it”. So I asked and you did and it helped a lot. Like I said, wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I hope that next month when I shoot I will have it as well together as you did. I think you make a great director, and I look forward with zeal to your next project.
Hey Arlo,

Great job with the posting. It did a great job encapsulating the day as well as our perspectives throughout it.

Couple things for you: 1. There wasn't any need to feel guilt for me having other stuff... Schedules can be like that. 2. Great job with directing... Not just the scenes, but the entire project from the idea of the "Video Junkies" to having a FULL Saturday shoot. You've certainly got my props! 3. One thing that I'd suggest to make your entries a little lighter on the reading intensity would be to include pictures periodically (perhaps even with captions.) That way, the eye would be able to take a break once in a while from heavy reading.

Nonetheless, you've been fastic, wonderful, great, spectacular, stupendous, neat, smart, nice, and a pleasure to work with.

Lets get to that post production... Whaddya say?
